SCHOOL SONG
(H P Bate 1970)
Maureen Humphries (now Maureen Carter), kindly sent in this photograph of her class, which was taken on 1st July 1961. Maureen, who was at the school from 1957 until 1963 and lived in Castle Street, is at the top left of the picture.
The window behind is the main hall of the Infants' Department, and you can see the famous wooden climbing frame inside, as well as details such as the huge glass light shades.
It is almost fifty years since this photograph was taken, and it would be fascinating to know where this class are now. If you know where any of this group are nowadays, please contact us.
William Allen (also a pupil from 1957 until 1963) sent us a message on 5th September 2011:
"Many thanks to Maureen for showing the pic of the old class. It brought back a lot of memories but I no longer have any contact with anyone from the group. In true Scouse tradition, I moved away from Liverpool seeking work." William is on the top row, third from the right.
